Grasshopper Pie ( Eggless Desserts Recipe)

A delicate peppermint flavoured mousse set on a chocolate biscuit base and garnished with chocolate curls, this cold dessert is quite refreshing just like the colour portrays it to be! the combination of mint and chocolate also gives it a rather gourmet feel, making it a perfect choice even for formal luncheons.

Ingredients


For The Biscuit Base
24 dark chocolate biscuits
3/4 cup melted butter

Other Ingredients
1 cup roughly chopped white chocolate
3 tbsp milk
2 drops green food colour
1/4 tsp peppermint essence
1 1/2 cups beaten whipped cream

Rojer, Groenefeld win French Open mixed doubles title

AP PhotoPARIS (AP) -- Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany won the mixed doubles title at the French Open by defeating eighth-seeded Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia and Julia Goerges of Germany 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 on Thursday.
Rojer was playing his first Grand Slam final while Groenefeld won the mixed doubles title at Wimbledon with Mark Knowles of the Bahamas in 2009.
''I gained a friend this week. I lost one, because I had to tell some other player that I'm not playing with her,'' Rojer said. ''So I hope she understands, especially now. But I apologized like 18 times to her.''
Rojer and Groenefeld were teaming up for the first time.
''Actually, I was asking around,'' Groenefeld said. ''No one wanted to play with me, and then he said yes.''

Nariyal Barfi

IngredientsNariyal Barfi is a popular Indian Dessert

3 cups - fresh coconut
600 gms - Condensed milk (sweetened)
1/2 cup - Sugar
5 tbsp - ghee
1 tbsp - cardamom powder
1 cup - almonds, blanched and cut into slivers 

Method

  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan and add the coconut, condensed milk and sugar in it.
  • Mix well and cook on low heat till the condensed milk gets reduced to a quarter of its original quantity (or till the mixture attains a fudge like consistency).
  • Add the ghee and mix well.  
  • Cook again till the ghee begins to separate from the fudge.
  • Mix cardamom powder to it and turn off the heat.
  • Grease a large platter and layer the mixture on it and smooth it out.
  • Top the entire surface with the slivered almonds.
  • Allow it to cool a little, then cut into squares.
  • Let it set, then remove the barfis from the platter and store in an air tight container.
